Senator Ifeanyi Okowa is a medical doctor and politician. One who has clearly made the rounds; he has served as Local Government Secretary, Local Government Chairman, Commissioner for Health, Secretary to the State Government and Senator of the Federal Republic.
Okowa, who is a second-term governor, does not really look what he is but then you underestimate him to your own challenge. Evidence of this is how he became governor despite the odds. However, deft ground work and an unmistakeable burst of political sagacity eventually saw him through.
And since becoming governor, it has been his lot to ensure the delivery of democracy dividends to the people even while navigating the political contours of a turbo-charged state. To his credit, the jury says he has done well. And today, he is recipient of our good governance award.
