The Zik Prize in Leadership inaugural award was held on Thursday February 5, 1998 at NICON Hotel, Abuja.
Award Recipients are:
- Dr. Salim Ahmed Salim, for Political Leadership
- Chief (Dr.) Anthony Ani, for Professional Leadership
- Chief (Dr.) Sunny Odogwu, for Business Leadership.
The award ceremony was chaired by General Dr. J.T. Oseni, Minister Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
